Zhidou History

Development of small electric cars by the predecessor entities began in 2006. Early collaborations with Italian companies Greengo and SCE were established in 2007. The first vehicle named ZD was exported to Europe in 2008.

A research center opened in Shanghai in 2010, followed by a production facility in Yinan in 2011. The company achieved European regulatory compliance in 2012 and passed quality tests in 2013. In 2014 it was selected for a car-sharing project in Italy.

Zhidou Electric Vehicle was officially founded in January 2015 as a joint venture between Xindayang Group and Geely Group, with Geely holding a significant stake. Geely divested its shares in 2016. The brand faced financial difficulties by 2019.
