Caparo Brand History
Caparo Vehicle Technologies, officially known as CVT, began life as Freestream Cars Limited. The company was founded in 2004 by Graham Halstead and Ben Scott-Geddes, both former McLaren F1 engineers. Their goal was to develop high-performance vehicles using advanced materials and motorsport technology.
In February 2006 Freestream unveiled the Freestream T1 concept. Shortly afterward, in March or April 2006, the company was acquired by the Caparo Group under financier Sean Butcher. The acquisition led to a full renaming to Caparo Vehicle Technologies with Angad Paul, the Caparo CEO, appointed as Chairman. This corporate change directly triggered the introduction of the new Caparo identity.
From 2006 until 2015 the company focused on developing and selling the Caparo T1 supercar. The business entered administration in November 2015 shortly after the death of Chairman Angad Paul. Caparo Vehicle Technologies was fully dissolved and liquidated in 2019.
Caparo Logo Evolution
2006 – 2019: Caparo Text Logo

The Caparo logo was created at the time of the 2006 acquisition and renaming from Freestream Cars Limited. This new identity replaced any previous Freestream branding and represented ownership by the Caparo Group.
- Design: Bold uppercase sans-serif typography spelling the word CAPARO
- Colors: Red lettering typically placed on black or white background
- Changes: Complete replacement of prior Freestream identity with simple text-based mark
- Context: Introduced simultaneously with the corporate renaming and appointment of Angad Paul as Chairman
The clean high-contrast design emphasized engineering precision and remained in use throughout the company’s active period. This single logo era covers the entire history of Caparo Vehicle Technologies from the 2006 rebranding until its dissolution in 2019. The Caparo car logo reflected the brand’s focus on performance engineering and advanced materials. Many enthusiasts still search for Caparo logo hd and Caparo logo transparent background versions for reference and design projects.
The Caparo symbol consists purely of text with no additional emblems or icons. Its straightforward appearance made it suitable for both technical documentation and automotive branding applications. Images from the period consistently show the same red typography treatment. Some collectors look specifically for Caparo logo png files or Caparo png assets when documenting defunct British marques.
Caparo logo history is short but closely tied to the dramatic corporate events of 2006. The introduction of the logo coincided exactly with the transition from Freestream to Caparo Vehicle Technologies. This direct link between ownership change and visual identity makes the Caparo emblem a clear example of acquisition-driven rebranding. Fans of the T1 supercar often seek Caparo car symbol or Caparo badge references when studying the vehicle’s original presentation materials.
Although the company no longer exists, its logo remains a point of interest for automotive historians and logo design enthusiasts. The enduring visual mark continues to appear in discussions about short-lived British performance car manufacturers. Those researching the brand frequently download Caparo logo images to illustrate articles about its brief but technically impressive history. The Caparo logo meaning centers on precision engineering and the fusion of motorsport knowledge with road-going supercar design.
