Iso Brand History
Iso was established in 1938 when Renzo Rivolta took over the Isothermos factory, later renamed Iso Autoveicoli S.p.A. in 1953. The company operated from its headquarters in Bresso, Italy, and produced automobiles until 1974, before the marque was revived in 2017. During its original run it became known for its luxury cars and motorcycles.
Key milestones include the 1938 founding, the production of signature models such as the Iso Rivolta and Iso Grifo, and the end of automobile production in 1974. Financial difficulties in the early 1970s led to the halt of automobile production. The brand left a legacy of Italian elegance and performance that is still acknowledged in automotive history.
Iso Logo Evolution
1953 – 1955: First Logo

The first logo was used during the company’s early production phase from 1953 to 1955. This design reflected the initial identity of the newly founded Italian automaker.
- Design: Triangular shield with rounded sides and three-dimensional golden border
- Colors: Gold, black, red, white
- Changes: Featured golden inscriptions, two stars, black diagonal stripe from lower left to upper right, cursive font for the brand name with first letter capitalized, and a red line across the top containing Milano in uppercase sans-serif letters
- Context: Introduced at founding and used in the first years of operation
1955 – 1974: Second Logo

The second logo was introduced in 1955 and remained in use until production ceased in 1974. This redesign gave the brand more character and helped define its visual identity during its most successful years.
- Design: Rectangular shield featuring a central golden griffin standing on its back feet
- Colors: Gold, black, Italian tricolor
- Changes: Brand name Iso placed above the griffin in cursive font with a straight line, black and golden inscription, striped vertical background using green white and red Italian national colors, Milano written in small font in the lower left corner
- Context: Coincided with maturing brand identity and was used consistently during production of iconic models including the Iso Rivolta and Iso Grifo
The logo evolution mirrored the company’s development from its 1953 founding through its peak period and final years until 1974. Both designs incorporated the name Milano to highlight the brand’s Italian roots near the headquarters in Bresso. The second emblem introduced the mythical griffin symbol while honoring national heritage through the Italian flag stripe.
