Brand History
The Wuling brand traces its roots to 1982, when Liuzhou Wuling Automobile began producing small delivery vehicles for the domestic Chinese market. Its headquarters have remained in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region since its establishment.
Production of the first model began in 1984 with the LZ110. This was followed by the Dragon successor model in 1990. In 1998 the company launched the LZW6370 under a licensing agreement with Daihatsu.
The pivotal moment in Wuling logo history arrived in 2002 with the formation of the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture. This partnership brought together SAIC Motor, General Motors, and Wuling Motors to manufacture all subsequent Wuling brand models from its base in Liuzhou.
In 2007 Wuling Group created a new division for trucks and custom-built vehicles that continued to use the Wuling brand and logo. A major corporate restructuring occurred in 2015 when the Wuling Group became Guangxi Automotive Group, which now serves as the current parent entity.

The Wuling emblem continues to serve as a shared visual asset between the independent Wuling Motors company and the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture. This continuity in branding has helped maintain recognition even as the company evolved its visual presentation.
Wuling symbol represents the brand’s long-standing presence in the Chinese automotive industry. The recent shift to a more contemporary appearance demonstrates the manufacturer’s adaptation to modern market expectations while honoring its heritage.
