Aurus Brand History
Aurus Motors was officially established in 2018 as part of a Russian government project to develop a national luxury vehicle brand. The company was initially dedicated exclusively to producing vehicles for state motorcades and presidential transportation. Ownership is shared among NAMI with 63.5 percent, Tawazun Holding with 36 percent, and Sollers JSC with 0.5 percent.
In 2021 the brand introduced the Aurus Senat luxury sedan to the civilian market, marking its first commercial sales to private customers. The following year saw further expansion with the launch of the Komendant luxury SUV in late 2022. The Kortezh series remains the primary focus, encompassing the full family of ultra-luxury vehicles.
Aurus Logo Evolution
2018 – Present: Original Shield Emblem

The Aurus emblem has remained unchanged since the brand was founded in 2018. This design was created simultaneously with the company to establish a strong visual identity for Russia’s new luxury automotive manufacturer.
- Design: Shield-shaped emblem featuring a silver star at the crest, a black horizontal band with the word AURUS in bold capital letters, and vertical silver stripes in the lower section
- Colors: Silver, black, gold, and metallic tones with a golden outline framing the entire shield
- Changes: No redesigns or variants documented since introduction
- Context: Developed to align with the brand’s positioning for government and affluent civilian customers, combining classic heraldic elements with modern automotive aesthetics
The vertical silver stripes in the Aurus car logo reference the front grille of a luxury vehicle. The silver star at the top of the Aurus symbol represents excellence and high aspirations while the golden outline conveys elegance and prestige. This design effectively communicates the brand’s focus on ultra-luxury vehicles.
Aurus Motors continues to use this original emblem across its Kortezh series vehicles. The consistent visual identity supports the brand’s positioning in the luxury segment since its market expansion began in 2021.
